Your opportunity

At Marian University, we believe that every student deserves an opportunity to attain the education required to make their dreams a reality. Unfortunately, despite the tremendous efforts of our state’s K-12 educators, not every student graduates high school prepared to succeed at a four year institution of higher education. There are many factors inhibiting a large segment of our population from attending college: financial, cultural, and language barriers, to name a few, often discourage high school graduates from pursuing higher education.

We want to change that. The Marian University Board of Trustees has approved the opening of St. Joseph’s College of Marian University–a new, innovative, and mission-driven two-year college that will provide the sense of community, support systems, and professional opportunities that many students need to succeed beyond high school.

Named after St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer (our partner in this venture), we will welcome the first cohort in August 2019—and we need your assistance to identify students you believe can serve as trail blazers for central Indiana’s newest educational enterprise.

What programs are offered?

Our two-year college will offer three associate degree programs to prepare students for career success in a range of employment settings:

Who are eligible candidates for admission?

Admission to the college will be selective. We are looking for 75-125 students who have the desire to succeed, and the maturity and the motivation to persist academically in order to achieve their goals.

Why choose St. Joseph's College of Marian University?

Students will receive personal attention from faculty and one-on-one mentoring from professors and staff who care deeply about their success.

But we aren't stopping there.

For many students, going to college isn't possible because they need to start earning a paycheck. Before they graduate from high school, many of our students work because they need to support themselves or make regular contributions to their family income.

Students may be eligible for as much as $15,000 of the $16,000 annual tuition through federal and state grants, and 21st Century Scholarships. The portion of the tuition not covered by grants can easily be paid for through the employment opportunities we will provide or minimal borrowing.
